Reclaimed Wood Paneling, Ceiling & Stair Details for LinkedIn Sunnyvale Campus
Urban Evolutions provided reclaimed wood wall cladding, ceiling treatments & stair treads for LinkedIn’s headquarters in Sunnyvale.
In a recent office addition, LinkedIn Sunnyvale chose to repurpose felled white oak urban trees for paneling, casework, and tabletops. LinkedIn and Gensler Architects have been champions of this underutilized wood source, fearlessly mixing graphics & bold colors with the warmth of salvaged wood.
“By repurposing downed white oak trees, we lessen the pressure on virgin forests and can trace where and how trees are harvested and processed,” Robin Janson, Creative Director, Urban Evolutions.
The designers specified 17K sf of white oak veneer panels for the lobby, seating surrounds, planters, as well as solid wood for gathering tables throughout the space.
