Our current supply of century old redwood is rescued from massive olive, pepper, and wine tanks as the industry moves toward the use of stainless steel for brining. This beautiful wood has become a desirable, finite resource. The unique black staining is a result of the metal straps and fasteners oxidizing over time. While many think of redwood for exterior use only, we find the rich coloration and the unique black staining a sought after look for distinctive interior spaces.
