Leigh Hunt once said, “Colors are the smiles of nature.”

Often it is all about the texture of the wood or the authenticity of the material that excites us. But, for these three projects, the added saturation of color and shine has us feeling happy.

  1. Anthropologie paired wide pine boards with deep blue for their store in Hawaii
  2. A local assisted living facility chose silver with a sheen to top its fireplace in a common gathering area
  3. Wild Tomato, one of our favorite wood-fired pizza joints, went with our tinted sky blue pickle skins inside their Sister Bay restaurant

“Adding the surprise of color to reclaimed is a trend we find inspiring,” said Robin Janson, president at Urban Evolutions. “Our customers are brave. And so are we. We love to collaborate with each other in the design phase of projects!”

From walnut, pine, and oak barn boards and factory timbers to redwood pickle and olive barrel skins, UE has used reclaimed cladding and paneling in many spaces for all varieties of clients from commercial to residential.
