What is Deconstruction?

Building deconstruction and reclamation is an alternative to traditional demolition. Workers dismantle all or part of buildings with an eye for preserving historic and/or materials with integrity for reintegration in the current project or to inventory for future reuse. If there is adequate lead time, deconstruction teams can recycle and repurpose up to 90% of the entire structure.

Economic and Environmental Impact

Building deconstruction and reclamation has economic savings, environmental benefits, and creates jobs by:

  • Offsetting cost of demolition through tax deductions
  • Diverting up to 50% – 90% of building waste from landfill
  • Reusing valuable lumber resources instead of cutting new growth timber
  • Maintaining carbon sequestration in salvaged lumber
  • Providing labor opportunities for the construction trades

Our services include consultation, acquisition, deconstruction and reintegration. Read more on our blog!
