RECLAIMED BARN SIDING & CORRUGATED TIN ADD CHARM TO MARKET STAND
Urban Evolutions is proud to promote Riverview Gardens, a local, socially innovative, self-supporting venture utilizing community greenspace to cultivate and market locally-grown produce to help fight the root causes of poverty, homelessness and unemployment in our community.
Our reclaimed barn siding and corrugated tin was used to construct their market stand, adding character and charm to the cart many have come to recognize in the Fox Valley.
The Neighborhood Market Initiative: This initiative engages residents and organizations from neighborhoods in the City of Appleton in establishing neighborhood market stands to take place weekly May through October. These neighborhood market stands act as focal points for neighborhood community engagement while providing increased access to affordable high quality fresh produce, building support for Riverview Gardens and partner Continuum of Care organizations, and developing the foundation for continued community development activities.
Market Schedule: Neighborhood markets will begin at the end of May or beginning of June. The Appleton Downtown Market also starts up in June. Produce availability will be posted daily to our Facebook page. We will accept cash, check, credit, and debit at all of our market stands. The Neighborhood Market Initiative is made possible through partnerships with Sustainable Fox Valley, Urban Evolutions, Jacobs Meat Market, Outagamie County Housing, Housing Partnership, Harbor House, Sustainable Lawrence University Gardens, US Venture, and many community volunteers and leaders.
Double Value Program: Participants in Wisconsin FoodShare will receive double value (50% discount) when using EBT at Riverview neighborhood markets. FoodShare participants also qualify for our Workshare program.
