When we received a call from David Easton’s office we tried to contain our excitement. This call was the beginning of a two house project over 4 years for one of Canada’s leading industrialists. The setting is St. Agathese Monts, Quebec. The first project was a contemporary / rustic home to fit in with the existing residence. The spirit of this second addition was to capture the warmth of a weekend get away… We provided antique white oak used for all of the doors and millwork as well as reclaimed fir salvaged from large red wine vinegar tanks for the ceilings.
The second guest house was a structure to replace the old dilapidated log cabin overlooking the lake. Our challenge was to find enough reclaimed hand hewn white oak logs to construct a log home that looked like it had been there for years. We also provided wide plank flooring from 1800’s barn floor and all of the lumber to make the doors, millwork, and cabinets.
After four years and 8 semi loads of reclaimed lumber this project was truly pleasure. And we are very proud to say we had an opportunity to work with David Easton, one the world’s leading designers.
